BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Two local elections will be decided by a coin toss Wednesday afternoon.
After a hand recount, the Whatcom County Auditor’s office announced that Deborah Morgan and Todd Daniels tied for Sumas City Council Position 3 with 176 votes apiece.
And one vote changed in the race for Ferndale City Council Position 4, resulting in a tie for Paul Shuey and Teresa Taylor.
A member of the Whatcom County Canvassing Board will toss a coin to determine a winner in each race at 3 p.m. at the Election Center in the Courthouse Basement.
