SEATTLE, Wash. (AP) — The “Barefoot Bandit” wants to become a motivational speaker.
Colton Harris-Moore asked a U.S. District Court judge in April to end his probation four months early so he can embark on the new career.
Harris-Moore is on probation following the seven year sentence he received in 2012 for a series of crimes he committed in northwest Washington and across the nation while homeless and often barefoot.
He began the crime spree after escaping from a Renton juvenile halfway house in 2008.
He was ultimately captured after crash-landing a plane that he stole in Indiana and flew to the Bahamas.
The U.S. Attorney says his probation doesn’t prevent him from traveling to speaking engagements.
