LYNDEN, Wash. – Wednesday night “Voice for Vylit” will hold a community forum on how to fight bullying.

The forum is in honor of the late Vylit VanderGiessen, whose suicide devastated Lynden, where she went to school, and Whatcom County.

“Voice for Vylit” is a non-profit formed to help parents, school districts, victims and those who exhibit bullying behavior.

The event tonight called “Can We End Bullying? A Community Response Forum” will take place at Redeemer Church on Smith Road in Bellingham at 6:30.

Four panelists are scheduled to share their views on bullying behavior and how the community can stop it.

“We want to turn something so tragic into something beautiful,” Pastor Dan Haugen said. “The best way to do this is to talk about it and then act on it.”
