BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The community has raised over $11,000 so far for the parents of a Bellingham man killed in a crash on I-5 last week.

According to the state patrol, 19-year-old Hundal Karnveer and his passenger, 18-year-old Manbir Singh, died after their car collided with another on northbound I-5 near Sunset Friday.

The 18-year-old was a student at Squalicum High School who moved to the U.S. from India with his parents about five years ago.

His aunt started the fund raising campaign to help his parents, who had to quit their jobs while they deal with their loss, pay for funeral costs and living expenses.

She says the family is devastated by their loss.

The GoFundMe page says money raised will go towards funeral costs as well as rent and bills until they are able to go back to work.
