BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Whatcom County’s Community Vaccination Center begins offering weeknight clinics this week.
Vaccinations will now be offered at Bellingham Technical College on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and during the day on Saturdays.
The first weeknight clinic is this Thursday, April 29th from 6 to 8 p.m.
The Whatcom County Health Department and its partners will have 240 first doses of the Moderna vaccine available this Thursday and 480 on Saturday.
Second dose clinics are invitation-only for those who received their first dose at the CVC and are guaranteed second-dose appointments.
Anyone who received their first does elsewhere and has had trouble finding an appointment is encouraged to call 360-778-6075 for assistance.
Appointments are being taken for both days.
This as the 7-day average of new reported virus infections is ticking up again in Whatcom County, while hospitalizations and deaths remain minimal.
The state’s infection measure for the county had been steady in the mid-20’s, a level prior to the holiday surge, from mid–March to mid-April, then it started to increase.
The most recent daily average of first time positive tests is now up to 32.
This as the average number of new COVID hospitalizations still averages 1 per day in the county.
Two deaths have been attributed to COVID in the past 30 days locally.
