OLYMPIA, Wash. — Nearly 229,000 pounds of SPAM products are being recalled because they may contain pieces of metal.
Food Safety Inspectors say Hormel Food Corp. issued the recall of 12-ounce metal cans of “SPAM Classic” with a “Best By” date of February 2021 and establishment number “EST. 199N.”
The company received four consumer complaints of metal objects found in the canned products and reports of minor injuries.
Consumers are urged to throw out the product or return it to the place of purchase.
