SEATTLE, Wash. — Website PayScale analyzed thousands of U.S. employers to see which ones were best at paying fair.
The results were based on organizations where at least 40% of surveyed employees felt they were paid fairly and Washington companies including Costco, Philips Medical Systems and Virginia Mason Medical Center made the cut.
Philips rated highest at 61%, while Costco and Virginia Mason were in the 50% range.
Conspicuously absent from the list is Seattle-based Amazon which consistently reports high pay that many Seattle residents blame for skyrocketing rent prices.
The highest rated company is Embassy Suites Hotels with 70% of employees satisfied with their wages.
Other companies on the list with a local presence include Trader Joe’s and the U.S. Air Force, Army and Navy.
