BELLINGHAM, Wash. – You may get the chance to tell Whatcom County Councilmembers what you think about taking private property for pipelines.

The council is considering putting an advisory measure on the November ballot about the use of eminent domain for oil and gas pipelines.

It would essentially be the same thing as a poll and not directly make any changes.

It would ask if elected officials should work to prevent and limit the use of eminent domain to take property rights from private landowners for use in oil and gas pipelines.”

Several pipelines have been proposed for Whatcom County.
