BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Rud Browne says he won’t run for a third term on the Whatcom County Council.
The 1st District Councilmember made the announcement on social media Sunday.
He says that whomever takes his place will learn a lot about the community, government and themselves.
And he warns that, while the pay is part time, the hours are long.
He likens it to having to drink from a firehose from day one, and it helps to have a “tough hide.”
But he praises the current council, administration, judiciary and the entire county staff and says it’s been a privilege to serve on the council.
