BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The Bellingham man accused of killing his mother because “he was a werewolf and she was a vampire” was found not guilty by reason of insanity Monday and will be sent to Western State Hospital in Lakewood for treatment.
Sheaen Emmette Smith called police in March of last year saying his mother needed help.
When officers arrived court documents say they saw Aurora Buol-Smith laying dead in the doorway and found Smith upstairs, at which point they say he told them he stabbed his mother.
Smith will go to Western hospital indefinitely with the goal of rehabilitation him so he can reenter society.
