SEATTLE, Wash. — A U.S. judge in Seattle extended a temporary restraining order on the Department of Justice blocking them from allowing a Texas company to post online plans for making untraceable 3D guns.
Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson led a lawsuit to stop a settlement the government had reached with the company, saying terrorists or felons could get a hold of the plans.
The DOJ says the original concern was over export laws and not the legality of plastic guns since they are already prohibited.
CNN reports that blueprints for the guns are already available online.
Groups of gun rights activists, including the Firearms Policy Coalition in California, posted the plans several weeks ago in defiance of the court order.
