BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Data shows COVID-19 activity may be slowing in the Nooksack Valley area.
According to data updated Monday by the Whatcom County Health Department, there have been no new coronavirus cases in the Nooksack Valley School District for two weeks in a row.
Still, their rate of cases per 100,000 residents is greater than rates in Bellingham, Mount Baker and Blaine, but lower than rates in Lynden, Meridian and Ferndale districts, which have the highest rates in the county.
Ten new positive virus tests were reported for Whatcom County residents Monday, on data for the day ending Sunday night.
No new deaths reported.
Whatcom County is now passing on the two of the state’s risk metrics relating to hospitalization; and failing on the three metrics relating to infection rates.
