BLAINE, Wash. — New COVID-19 checkpoints are established on the Canadian border.

The Northern Light reports the provincial checkpoints on the Canadian side of the border are located just after the standard border control facilities.

They were set up in Surrey for those entering B.C. from Blaine, and in Tsawwassen for those coming from Point Roberts.

So-called conservation officers at the checkpoints ask motorists about COVID-19 symptoms and distribute international flyers.

They also instruct anyone entering the country to self-isolate for 14 days.
