BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The rate of coronavirus infection in Whatcom County is increasing.

The state’s data dashboard shows 18 new positive test reports on Monday ending at midnight, with one new death reported.

The health department reports six new Whatcom County COVID-19 hospitalizations in the past week.

The county is passing two of five state risk assessment metrics as of Wednesday morning.

At a state level yesterday, Governor Inslee updated re-opening guidance regarding weddings and funerals effective August 10th.

In Counties at Phase II and beyond, indoor occupancy is limited to 20 percent or 30 people, whichever is less, if distancing can be maintained between households; receptions are prohibited.
