SEATTLE, Wash. – Cases of COVID-19 are on the rise again in parts of western Washington.

KIRO reports that the Seattle-King County health department says they’re seeing almost 500 new cases per day.

That’s still well below the height of the omicron surge that caused about 6500 new cases daily.

Health officials worry that fewer testing sites and more people testing at home will make accurate case counts difficult.

The state has put together a panel to discuss if or when new protective measures are needed, but one official says they’re not alarmed by the current numbers.
