COVID-19 vaccination are going up in Washington State.
Michelle Roberts, who leads the state’s COVID-19 vaccine planning and distribution team, says there’s been a 25% increase in the number of people who’ve gotten at least one shot.
“More than 4.9 million people in Washington have received at least one dose of COVID 19 vaccine,” says Roberts. “That’s more than 76 percent of the state’s eligible population. And other good news is that nearly 70 of people 12 and older are fully vaccinated.”
The Seattle Times reports that more than two-thirds of Washington state employees have gotten their shots.
By October 4th, most workers must show that they have gotten all their shots in order to be considered fully vaccinated by Oct. 18.
State agencies have granted nearly 800 accommodations to workers who were approved for either religious or medical exemptions.
