BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The Bellingham Police Department celebrated an officer, assistant fire chief, a citizen and the man whose life they all came together to save.
In a Facebook post, the department says over a month ago their officers Damon Landry and T. James responded to a call for a man who was non-responsive. At the scene, Landry began CPR while James went to find a defibrillator.
A nearby citizen, William Evans, who is first aid certified came to help Landry and the men took turns.
North Whatcom Fire and Rescue Assistant Chief Joe Noonchester was in the area, and responded to the call with a defibrillator.
The three men worked together to keep the victim alive, until medics got him to a hospital where he was treated.
On Monday Noonchester and Evans got Citizen Commendation Letters and Landry got a Letter of Commendation from BPD.
