OLYMPIA, Wash. – If you’re a crabber in Washington State, your crab catch cards are coming due.
The Department of Fish and Wildlife says crab fishers are required to report what they caught during the season that ended September 6th.
Catch record cards are due by October 1st even for crabbers who didn’t catch anything.
Those who don’t submit their catch will be assessed a $10 penalty when buying another crab license.
The department says reporting is important because it helps them set catch limits to ensure crabbing sustainability.
You can either mail your crab card to the address listed on it or submit it virtually on the WDFW’s website.
