SUDDEN VALLEY, WASH. – After a wet, snowy winter, crews say the North Cascades Highway may open a bit late.
The state Department of Transportation tells KING they don’t expect to have it open before Memorial Day.
If it takes eight weeks to clear the road, like the DOT estimates, it would be the latest opening since 1974 when it opened mid-June.
