WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – State Department of Agriculture sleuths are hot on the trail of another murder hornet in Whatcom County.

Entomologists confirmed two reports of Asian Giant Hornets on Thursday, September 9th, and say they also had this year’s first trap catch of a live specimen.

They were able to attach a radio tracker to one hornet and release it in hopes that it will lead them to another nest of the invasive species.

A large Asian Giant Hornet nest was found near Blaine and eradicated last month.
