BURLINGTON, Wash. – If your commute takes you on the Old Highway 99 Burlington Northern overpass, be prepared for delays.

The overpass will close Monday and remain shut down for up to a year and a half.

Crews are demolishing the structure built in 1936.

Old Highway 99 will be closed just north of Cook Road.

There’ll be a signed detour on I-5 and Bow Hill Road to allow you to avoid the construction area.
