BLAINE, Wash. — On Wednesday, Canada becomes the largest country in the world to legalize marijuana.
And while recreational cannabis is currently legal in Washington state, the Seattle Times reports officials in the U.S. and Canada say not to try to cross the border while possessing pot.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection says it enforces federal law which maintains marijuana is illegal.
Canadian officials also say the border is a weed-free zone and no one should try to take marijuana across in either direction.
