BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A cyclist was killed in a collision with a car on Meridian Street in Bellingham yesterday morning, Wednesday, September 22nd.
Bellingham Police report the driver was southbound near I-5 just after 6 a.m. as the cyclist swerved from one side of the road to the other.
The driver was unable to avoid a collision and hit the 44-year-old man.
The driver stopped immediately and called 911 but the unidentified bicycle rider died at the scene.
The driver was not found to be impaired and no charges will be filed.
Meridian was closed south of the freeway for about two hours during the investigation.
