Danek of Bellingham’s K-9 Unit tracks down Chevron robber

BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A man arrested early Sunday is accused of robbing a Chevron store before he was tracked down by a Bellingham K-9 unit.

Police Lieutenant Danette Beckley says Samuel David Axlund appeared intoxicated when he entered the Chevron on Lakeway Drive and concealed food in an attempt to steal them.

The clerk confronted Axlund and Beckley says they got into a physical altercation before Axlund ran and had to be tracked down by K-9 Danek.

Axlund faces a slew of charges including robbery and assault.
