SEATTLE, Wash. — Darigold and the Northwest Dairy Association are doubling their annual milk donation to Pacific Northwest foodbanks.
The cooperative of nearly 500 northwest dairy farms is expanding its donations to foodbanks in Washington, Idaho and Oregon.
The co-op will give 130,000 gallons of 2% milk by mid-may.
The donations will not only help families experiencing food insecurity.
Darigold says donating the milk will allow producers to maintain their production levels as demand has been impacted by closed schools and institutions and a reduction of exports.
