The U.S. Department of Agriculture announced today (Wednesday) the Darrington Food Bank Foundation will receive a Community Facility Disaster Grant.

The $71,500 grant will go towards a new refrigerated box truck to pick up and deliver perishable items to residents in need.

The Darrington Food Bank regularly drives 1,500 miles per month to provide food to residents of Darrington, parts of Snohomish and Skagit counties, as well as of Sauk-Suiattle, Tulalip, and Lummi tribal members.
