DARRINGTON, Wash. — A 70-year-old Darrington man is dead after he sped off the roadway in his SUV and hit a tree Wednesday afternoon.
The State Patrol reports the man, whose identity has not been released, was westbound on SR-530 near Darrington and speeding when he missed a curve and went off the road.
The SUV was totaled and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
