WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – A data breach has limited services for Whatcom County Library patrons.
The library system’s executive director, Christine Perkins, said that the breach impacts the libraries’ email and phone systems.
Curbside pickup is also impacted, as the service is scheduled through email.
Library events and book check-outs are not impacted by the breach.
Perkins says that the investigation is ongoing, but they suspect the breach was caused by malware.
The Bellingham Public Library is not part of the county library system and is running without issue at this time.
