BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A longtime Bellingham businessman who recently died left most of his estate to local charities.
Steve Brewster owned the Sportsman Chalet for many years but eventually had to sell it as he suffered from multiple sclerosis.
He passed away in December.
Dan Robbins, the executor of his sizable estate, reports that Bellingham’s Lighthouse Mission and Salvation Army will each receive $100,000. Additional gifts will be sent to Doctors Without Borders, St. Jude’s, and Wounded Warriors.
The gifts were announced Thursday at the Lions Club luncheon.
