OAK HARBOR, Wash. — Restoration work on the Deception Pass bridge is ramping up.
Crews with the State Department of Transportation will be sandblasting old paint off both the Canoe Pass and Deception Pass bridges beginning Monday, August 26th.
The work is scheduled 8 AM to 10 PM Monday through Saturday and the DOT estimates it will take months to finish.
That means visitors at the park can expect lots of noise on and around the bridges.
There will also be limited parking near the highway as well as overnight lane closures across the bridges Saturdays through Thursdays from 8 PM to 6 AM.
