WHIDBEY ISLAND, Wash. — The new multi-billion dollar defense spending bill signed into law on Friday includes $2 million for the Navy to study ways to reduce jet engine noise.
That’s been a contentious issue on Whidbey Island where residents have complained about noise from Growler jet training.
The Kitsap Sun reports the Navy intends to increase its Growler training fleet by 36 planes.
