WASHINGTON, D.C. — Washington US Representatives Suzan DelBene and Pramila Jayapal are leading a congressional effort to ban preferential access to COVID-19 vaccines.

They penned a letter asking the CDC to include a ban on preferential treatment in agreements providers sign with the government before receiving vaccines.

The lawmakers point to a Seattle Times report about several Washington hospital systems that offered vaccines to large donors and board members ahead of the public.

Second District Congressman Rick Larsen was among other Washington Democrats who also signed the letter.
