FERNDALE, Wash. — Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 28-year-old Ferndale man for allegedly entering and damaging a box van belonging to Barlean’s Fishery.
Sheriff Bill Elfo says deputies with the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 3600 block of Slater Road Friday morning in response to a reported vehicle prowl.
They found Zachary McNeil walking along Slater Road and the reporting party positively identified him as a suspect.
Deputies also checked the area of Barlean’s Organic Oils and found that a door window on the building had been kicked out and shoeprints similar to those on the van were on the broken door.
McNeil was booked into jail on charges of vehicle prowl, malicious mischief, and attempted burglary.
