CUSTER, Wash. — Whatcom deputies arrested a Ferndale man suspected of stealing thousands of dollars worth of equipment from a local business over the course of two months.
The Sheriff’s Office says tools, ammunition and firearms accessories went missing in several burglaries and thefts that occurred at the Custer Sportsman’s Club at 3000 Birch Bay Lynden Road during December 2020 and January 2021.
An investigation developed probable cause to arrest 31-year-old Skyler Blanc of Ferndale.
Blanc was taken into custody on January 15 and later admitted to the burglaries as well as the attempted theft of a $20,000 Kabota tractor.
The Sheriff’s Office says the investigation has led to the discovery of other crimes in Whatcom County as well as other suspects.
