BELLINGHAM, Wash. — After thirty years with the Bellingham Police Department, Detective Jana Bouzek retired this week.
Detective Bouzek served multiple roles during her tenure, much of which she spent in the Family Crimes Unit.
Bouzek won awards and commendations for her work as a polygraph examiner and was praised for her work and dedication to helping children.
Her sister Danette Beckley is currently a lieutenant with the Bellingham Police.
“The City of Bellingham was lucky to have such an excellent employee, but most importantly our child victims had a fierce investigator on their side . . . the compassion and skill she used interviewing children were amazing to watch,” she says.
