BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A long anticipated closure of the Mount Baker Highway starts this week.
WSDOT says the planned closure between Britton and Noon Roads began on Monday, June 5th at 6 a.m.
The section will remain closed through the summer, with no official reopening date announced.
Crews will be removing a fish barrier on Squalicum Creek and replacing it with a bridge that will allow fish to migrate.
Detours via Hannegan and Smith Roads will be in place during the closure.
