WASHINGTON D.C. – If you own a DeWALT chainsaw, take a look at the model number before plugging it in.

The power tool company is recalling one of their 18-inch chain saws due to risk of the saw continuing to run despite being switched off while plugged in, posing a hazard to the user.

No related injuries have been reported yet, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Owners of the DeWALT DWCS600, Type 1 18-inch 15-amp corded chain saw with date codes from 2021 23-H5 to 2021 40-H5 should immediately stop use and contact DeWALT for a replacement.

The recall affects about 8,500 units.
