BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The state Department of Licensing is temporarily closing its lobbies and canceling appointments, but that doesn’t mean teens learning to drive are out of luck.

The DOL is letting driver’s ed go web-based for the time being so students can continue working toward their permits and licenses.

KOMO reports the driving component is on hold.

Drivers renewing their licenses can do so online and the DOL relaxed rules meaning for at least the next 30 days, people with age restrictions can also renew online.

The US Department of Homeland Security also extended the deadline for the REAL ID enforcement until October 1st, 2021.
