BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The historic Leopold building in downtown Bellingham is transforming into an apartment-hotel complex.
Owners Peter and Aimee Frazier announced the building that recently closed its doors as a retirement home is undergoing renovations and will reopen this summer as a 61-unit apartment complex and 31-room “Hotel Leo.”
Hotel guests and apartment residents will share the building’s fitness facility, social lounge, deck, and library.
Studios, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments will be available for rent starting June 1 with monthly rental rates ranging from $950 to $2,000.
It will be the first hotel in Bellingham’s city center in at least 15 years.
