LYNDEN, Wash. — Wildlife officials are looking for a person who discarded several dozen dead ducks and geese northwest of Lynden.

A game warden found the rotting birds near the intersection of Weidkamp and Badger roads last Friday, November 30.

Matt Berry with the Whatcom Chapter of the Washington Waterfowl Association says his organization is offering a $500 reward for information leading to a conviction.

“Hopefully somebody knows somebody who was out there hunting in the area, or [maybe] a land owner nearby saw something and then can report it to the Department of Fish and Wildlife,” he says.

He says its not only a terrible waste but also paints the sport of hunting in a negative light.
