WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – The driver of a stolen vehicle repeatedly rammed a deputy’s patrol car to get away but didn’t make it far.
Whatcom County Sheriff’s spokesperson Deb Slater says in a media release that deputies responded to a report of a stolen vehicle in the area of Henry and Kickerville Roads Thursday afternoon, April 14th.
They tried to contact the driver as they were stopped at a traffic light at Slater and Haxton Way, but the driver accelerated into the sheriff’s patrol car.
The driver rammed the deputy’s car again before speeding away.
Spike strips were used to flatten the vehicle’s tires and a successful PIT maneuver brought it to a stop in a Ferndale neighborhood.
Deputies arrested 27-year-old Jessica Shockey of Blaine on multiple charges.
One deputy received minor injuries during the incident.
