BLAINE, Wash. – One person was hospitalized and another was arrested following a DUI crash near Blaine Sunday night.

The State Patrol reports a driver got out of his disabled car and abandoned it in the left lane of southbound I-5 just after 10 p.m.

A car driven by 20-year-old Dylan Ferry of Blaine crashed into the disabled vehicle, sending it into the median where it landed on its top.

A 19-year-old passenger in his car was injured and transported to PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center.

Ferry was taken into custody on charges of vehicular assault and driving with a suspended license.

Troopers say drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash.
