BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Bellingham drivers are asked to avoid a section of Squalicum Parkway for the next few weeks.
Starting this week, crews will construct a fish-passable culvert under Squalicum Parkway near where it becomes Birchwood Avenue, just north of PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center.
Squalicum Parkway will be reduced to one lane for up to three weeks while the culvert is installed.
This is part of the City of Bellingham’s Squalicum Creek Re-route Project, which is working to address water quality and habitat issues associated with man-made Bug Lake.
