BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Hot, dry weather means the Whatcom County Fire Marshal is increasing restrictions on burning.
The full burn ban officially starts Wednesday morning.
It makes any open burning illegal, including campfires.
The only thing still allowed are propane or charcoal grills, and propane fire pits that don’t actually burn any wood.
The ‘Stage 2’ burn ban is for all of Whatcom County outside of city limits.
Each city has their own burn ban rules.
