Economic experts suggest holiday budget figures to avoid debt

WASHINGTON, D.C. — With Thanksgiving fast approaching, we are officially in the holiday season, a time of year for good cheer and busted budgets.

Economic experts with WalletHub looked at various population characteristics in 570 US cities including income, age and savings-to-monthly-expenses ratio and came up with suggested budgets for people in those areas to help avoid heavy holiday debt.

Bellingham came in toward the bottom of the list with a suggested budget of $494.

Bellevue had the largest suggested budget in Washington, coming in 31st nationwide at nearly $1,800.
