OLYMPIA, Wash. — Democrats continue to hold the majority of statewide offices.

Democratic Gov. Jay Inslee has become the first incumbent elected to a third term in Washington state in more than 40 years, beating Republican challenger Loren Culp.

Democratic US Congressman Denny Heck appears poised to transition to Olympia as Lt. Governor.

Attorney General Bob Ferguson is comfortably ahead, and Democratic incumbents look to stay in place as Treasurer, Auditor and Commissioners of Insurance and Public Lands.

Incumbent Chris Reykdahl is ahead in the race for Superintendent of Public Instruction.

Kim Wyman is on pace to remain the only Republican elected to statewide office as Secretary of State.
