BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Bellingham has installed their second electric vehicle charging station.

The station, located at 1030 Lakeway Drive in the Whole Foods parking lot, will be officially dedicated during a ribbon-cutting on Saturday at 10 AM.

It includes two fast chargers, which can recharge an electric vehicle in about the same amount of time it takes to grocery shop or enjoy a cup of coffee.

City Council member Pinky Vargas as well as 40th District Representatives Jeff Morris and Debra Lekanoff will be at the ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday to celebrate the first-ever Drive Electric Earth Day.

“Electric cars are well worth the ride . . . . [they] are not only efficient and easier on the environment, they are becoming increasingly affordable,” says Mayor Kelli Linville.
