EVERETT, Wash. — The trial has been delayed for a Sea-Tac trucker accused of killing a young Canadian couple in 1987.
The Daily Herald reports a judge moved the trial from next month to June 3, after a motion for a continuance from defense attorneys.
The defense says they haven’t yet received important lab notes they will need before they interview DNA experts, and they need time to travel to Canada and speak with other witnesses.
55-year-old Earl Talbott is accused of aggravated murder in the killings of 18-year-old Tanya Van Cuylenborg and 20-year-old Jay Cook.
The young couple was killed while on a road trip from British Columbia, to Seattle.
Van Cuylenborg’s body was found near Alger and Cook’s near Monroe.
Their van and other belongings were found in Bellingham.
