EVERSON, Wash. — Thanks to a keen-eyed Everson man, a former army veteran will get reunited with his long-lost army bag.
When Jerami Tom of Everson bought a military bag at an estate sale that reminded him of his childhood it set him off on a mission to find the bag’s original owner.
Tom told KOMO that his father brought home a similar bag after his service and Jerami carried around his toys in it.
The bag brought back those memories so he bought it, but then found a veteran’s ID and dog tags in it.
He tried to find the veteran Dennis Luby through an online search but struck out.
He then contact the Bellingham Herald which ran a story that caught Luby’s eye.
Luby plans to come to Washington next month to meet Tom and retrieve his belongings.
