LYNDEN, Wash. — A well-known steak house in Everson is taking steps to stay open and help other restaurants weather the COVID storm.
The Lynden Tribune reports the owners of Herb Niemanns on Main Street put up two heated tents surrounded by barriers.
Monday’s high winds brought one down but they’ve ordered a larger, sturdier tent they hope to have up soon.
Owners Matthew and Angel Goering also gave some financial help to neighboring Smokestack Diner to help them provide Thanksgiving meals.
They say their efforts are covered by money from the Congressional CARES Act but those funds will go fast.
